Engstlensee - Fishing and easy lake walk
Engstlensee is a natural lake used as a reservoir in the municipality of Innertkirchen, Bernese Oberland, Switzerland. It is located near Joch Pass at an elevation of 1850 m.
The water of the Engstlensee passes through a tunnel in the neighboring Gadmental valley before being used in the Fuhren, Hopflauenen and Innertkirchen power stations.
Very idyllic little mountain lake in the Bernese Alps. During summer, there are cows around and allow you some typical swiss images. Great hiking area as well!
It is the ideal place to break a long-distance hike; the Engstlensee is on several hiking trails such as the Nidwaldner Höhenweg (high trail), ViaSbrinz and Via Alpina.
